Dear Bloomer's, where have you been all my life?
Well, apparently, right down the street. I have lived mere blocks away from Bloomer's for over 4 years but, in an effort to be more *~*vegan*~* have only just recently added it to my regular neighborhood rotation.
The coffee is delicious, the donuts are to die for, and the lunch menu is nothing short of expansive.
Yesterday, I ordered the BBQ jackfruit sandwich (my new fav food trend) to go and was *shook* to discover how huge it was when I got it home. It was one of those perfect sloppy sandwiches that leaves enough behind on the plate that you have to eat it with a fork. Free second sandwich, right? The jackfruit was divine, though it was a bit heavy on the mayo (but at least it was vegan mayo).
There has been quite a bit of a wait every time I come here, but the staff are friendly and the wait is always worth it. Definitely one of the better vegan pastry shops I've tried in the city and the wide-ranging lunch menu makes it even better. Also looks like a great spot to hole up with a laptop on weekdays! -

Bloomer's was at the summer Farmers market in front of RBC, and we bought a bunch of doughnuts for the whole team. We got the rose pistachio, birthday cake, raspberry jelly filled, cinnamon sugar, and pina colada, among some other flavours.
These doughnuts are MASSIVE! Half of one is equivalent to your normal doughnut. The main appeal of these doughnuts, I believe, are that they can be gluten and dairy free (vegan). However, I wasn't that big a fan. I found them overly greasy and not that quite pillowy or yummy. A heavy afternoon treat, but a happy one nonetheless! -

I picked up 3 donuts from here for my daughter and her friends.
The green matcha tea, pink sprinkled and sugar classic.
I said to myself:
I will take a small piece of each to try them, then pass them on to the girls...
--
Sadly, The girls got not donuts because once I started eating one, I had to finish it and then just HAD to eat the rest!
All in all excellent donuts -

I only had a chance to stop in here briefly during a short trip to Toronto, but I got their Zucchini Chocolate Chip Muffin, and WOW, it was one of the best muffins I've EVER had. Bonus was the fact that it was vegan AND gluten-free.
It looks like there were a couple other things I could have also tried that were vegan and gluten-free, so maybe I will have to come back next time I'm in town to try them. -

Donuts from Bloomer's are vegan and well for me it lacked taste. It was all sweet icing. Without icing it was just bread.
